A folded calf- made me think of a netsuke- all compact:
Rantei, mid-19th century. Ivory. Length 4.5 cm!
Kanae Yamamoto woodblock. Influenced by the Post-Impressionists, who were influenced by Japanese woodblocks- (a hall of mirrors!)

Have you read 'the cow who fell into the canal' ? It's the best, it's a dutch children's book. The cow has the greatest canal adventure that even involves cheese.
