I think its an earring. Or a little stick pin? Either way, you'll have to lean in to read it.
Ive got a kind of black mark on the tip of my index finger- see it? I cut my self with a jeweller's saw, quite deep- then some kind of silver-dust-grime has gotten in and its healed over- a sort of lame goldsmith's tattoo!
This reminds me of that story of Yoko Ono's YES ceiling painting! I love it!

I have a blue spot in the same spot on the same finger! A (saw blade?) souvenir from my student days...
