I think most jewellers feel similarly to Sally from time-to-time, well I do-(with the exception of disliking sheet material) but most probably wouldn't admit it!
I wonder how the translation into Japanese came across... I cant help comparing/contrasting her frank self-deprecation with with my impression of Japanese Craftsmanhood (if thats a word)-
where there is that self-effacing quality (somewhat different to self-deprecating) -as elucidated in Soetsu Yanagi's The Unknown Craftsman. This seems to exist side-by-side with a deep pride in skill / profession/ tradition. Possibly comparing Australian art-jewellery practice with Japanese traditional craft just isn't analogous - but still, I was musing over how Japanese folk might read this exhibition through their cultural lens.
